We have reduced the price up to 26% on many Windows On-Demand EC2 instance types. Additionally, we have reduced Amazon S3 prices for GET requests by 60% and for PUT, LIST, COPY, and POST requests by 50%. The added support for local secondary indexes (LSI) results in significantly reduced application complexity and read costs by enhancing Amazon DynamoDB's query flexibility and performance. LSI broadens the range of workloads that are supported by Amazon DynamoDB.

Amazon Redshift is now available in the US East (N. Virginia) Region and Amazon EC2 High Storage Instances are now available in the US West (Oregon) Region. Amazon Redshift is a fully managed, petabyte-scale data warehouse and High Storage Instances (hs1.8xlarge) are an Amazon EC2 instance type that is ideal for customers whose applications require high sequential read and write performance over very large data sets.

  Improve the I/O Performance of your Applications with additional EBS-Optimized Instances Types   Improve the I/O Performance of your Applications with additional EBS-Optimized Instances Types
We now offer global availability of EBS-optimized support for four additional instance types: m3.xlarge, m3.2xlarge, m2.2xlarge, and c1.xlarge. EBS-optimized instances deliver dedicated throughput between Amazon EC2 and Amazon EBS, with options between 500 Megabits per second and 1,000 Megabits per second depending on the instance type used. Customers have used EBS-Optimized instances with Provisioned IOPS volumes to consistently deliver up to 2000 IOPS from a single volume.

  Deploy Applications to VPCs from Visual Studio
The AWS Toolkit for Visual Studio has new features to help develop applications that run in a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). You can use graphical tools in the AWS Explorer window to set up and configure your VPC environment, and then deploy your applications to AWS Elastic Beanstalk running within your VPC.
