Attending an Event FAQ
- How do I participate in an event?
-
There are currently many events hosted both online and in-person in different regions around the world. Tournaments, meet-ups, leagues, viewing parties; there’s a lot of ways to be part of the action.
Want to join an event? Simply browse the list of events on the Community Events page. If you’re logged in with your Summoner name, you can click the “Register” button to sign up for the event. Please note that some event organizers will require that you register on their site as well. Please read all instructions in the event listing.
Even if an event is full, you’ll still get a spot on the waitlist (although that’s not guarantee you’ll get a spot in the tournament).
- How can I check the status of an event that I’ve registered for?
-
When you log into the Community events page you’ll see a box labeled “Events I’m Registered For”. Each event will have a status such as “Players Registering” or “Ended”.
- I recently placed in a tournament which qualified me for a prize and haven’t received anything. When can I expect to receive my prize? What should I do?
-
You can see if your event has been prized out by looking at the “Events I’m Attending” link and checking the current status of your event.
Once a tournament is over, the organizer must provide Riot with the information about the winners. Then we verify the results and distribute prizes. If you feel prize distribution is taking longer than it should, please contact the tournament organizer so they can reach out to us.
If you’ve already attempted to contact the event organizer and feel like you’re out of options, send an email to tournaments@riotgames.com with the following information:
- The name of the Event
- The Event ID. This is listed in the Events Details page, and is also in the URL for the event.
- The server your team competed on (North America, Europe West, Europe Nordic & East)
- The date of the tournament
- Your summoner name
- The tournament organizer name or summoner name
- The prize you were supposed to get (example: 1500 RP)
- Please do not email support or any other Riot email; they’ll just forward your inquiry to tournaments@riotgames.com.
- I’ve recently participated in an event and am dissatisfied with the organization and/or have a dispute to report. Who do I reach out to?
-
Please note that individual players and organizations run these tournaments, not Riot. While we provide some prizing and event listings, we don’t provide any specific support for the events themselves. We’ll do what we can to help organizers improve their events, but we’re not always able to fix issues that are the responsibility of a 3rd party organizer.
Still, if you had a bad experience at an event, definitely let us know. Your feedback is important, so please email tournaments@riotgames.com with any information about the event you want to share. Please also include the following information:
- The name of the tournament you participated in
- The server you competed on (North America, Europe West, Europe Nordic & East)
- The date of the tournament
- The tournament organizer’s name or summoner name
- Your issues with that event
- Can I receive prizing if I don’t register for a tournament?
-
All players for each tournament need to register or they won’t be eligible for prizing because the organizer will not see your name displayed to submit the results for the tournament. If you’re a substitute for your team, please make sure you register during the registration time, this way you’re eligible to receive prizing.
- Can I change servers to participate in an online event? Can Riot help?
-
We encourage you to seek out online events on your server. If you do decide to change servers, you’re responsible for purchasing server transfers to the new server and back.
