Under Armour SpeedForm running footwear review - National Endurance Sports Men, be honest, you happen to be dieing to understand it would feel like to wear a bra. What would that soft supple fabric think that pressed up against your hairy man chest? Well, unless you happen to be going to buy a Bro or Manssiere, you will be waiting a little bit longer for your bra feeling against your chest. But, at the same time, you might have in how Under Armour applies the bra concept for their latest athletic shoes, SpeedForm. Every triathlete is on the market looking for the perfect combination of comfort, affordability, performance, durability and aesthetics in terms of running shoes. Some have more money look around the latest and greatest shoes and some have their well-versed $35 set of specific brands and models which they live and die by. There a large number of choices between minimalists, lightweight, stability, motion control, neutral and a heck of your lot more. The best choice is to get feet measured for your local running store and commence trying shoes out. If you've some cash to purchase your health, another layer of choosing the right shoe would be to hit your neighborhood chiropractor or sports exercise specialists for a few screening and gait analysis to learn your foot structure and what sorts of shoes would best fit your feet. That would no less than arm you with ammunition in the first place the right shoe section. That being said, SpeedForm is probably not the shoe to suit your needs. They are not motion control nor include the stability control. Unless you're working with good form or happen to be slowly progressing to lightweight running shoes, they will often cause some issues to suit your needs. But don't let that scare you away. Under Armour sent us a set of two electric blue SpeedForms and now we are not even close to minimalist shoe wearers. We tried them out with caution and didn't just go out for a 15 mile training run. We wore the crooks to the store, to church, treadmill workouts, indoor track workouts, paved trail runs and street running. We also sported them at the Shawnee Mission Triathlon and now (and 4.5 miles of nasty heal strike during the race), we now have the follow review to talk about. Read on. Packaging / Shelf Appeal / Marketing 'This is exactly what fast feels like'. That's a bold statement to get a shoe box. Under Armour exists and has no qualms about putting themselves out there. The box is large, and they probably need that to the size from the ego that this shoes bring with all the product line reveal. They are pimping this footwear hard and spare any marketing expense. Even with size 12 with this review, the box size wasn't forced to be that huge, but that's the way they come. As one could expect coming from a big sportswear manufacturer, the look and packaging is nothing short of professional and top notch. You definitely won't confuse these shoes with something stated in someone's knitting room during their spare time. You probably wouldn't connect these sneakers to a bra manufacturing process just from the packaging. Form / Construction UA boasts that SpeedForms really are a new type of athletic shoes with hardly any seams that's stated in a bra factory in China. The Speedform's heel cup is free of any stitching and it is made from one piece of material. From their website, they post the next description regarding the science and construction with the SpeedForms; Upon inspection, the shoe looks sharp and well put together. There are no sloppy seams and transition from soul to footbed. It's the things they claim within the sense of seamless. There aren't any insoles to obtain (people who use orthotics may be out of luck while using SpeedForms as there is no extra room being made by taking out the factory insole). It's super light, but has come about as basically one piece and feels solid. The fabric is bendable, foldable and malleable to a lot of different shapes and contortions, but bounces back quickly and easily, even though being stuffed in a gym bag to get a few days. Honestly, it's nothing like any type of shoe we now have typically ran in. Soft and supple, but strong and manly at one time. Kind of like, 'strong enough to get a man, but created for women'. Fashion / Appearance It harkens for the five-finger shoes and toe socks in the toe box, but in the shoe is similar shape we triathletes will always be used to. There are not any toes in the shoe, and all one open toe box. The bottom from the soul is really a unique design that can take after the natural foot layout instead of some funky scientifically developed pattern which provides some magic energy savings. Mother nature made out feet for any reason, knowning that original design may be worth keeping. The shoes are appealing in a shock value sort of way. The colors are not wild, but they really are a little neon and do stand out inside a crowd. Yes, we wore these phones church to break them in at the request of our own five year old daughter, and they got some looks. They are clean, simple and easy functional in appearance. There's no excessive and inordinate volume of symbols and logos around the shoes. There are not any overcompensation for shiny baubles for the design to distract buyers coming from a lame duck shoe design, because as we are going to get to, SpeedForms deliver. Fit / Function The SpeedForms really do feel unique of any other shoe we have tried. It's quite like water socks that you could run in, except these won't blister you up (as long as you wear socks). They hug across the ankle, but not inside a Aunt Betty-haven't-seen-you-in 10 years sort of way. It's firm, but not constrictive. The toe box can be a little around the big side, but that didn't cause us a difficulty overall. In full disclosure, with one of these being similar to lightweight running shoes, most workouts or runs at any given time were below 5 miles in most cases sprint intervals, hill intervals, tempo runs or weight training sessions. The SpeedForms were utilized for 2 workouts weekly and worn casually in between for a total close to 50 miles just for this review. There were no difficulty with traction for the running surface or within the shoe with all the foot slipping around. When laced up, the SpeedForms were just like it grows to having a running shoe feel like another skin. Now, we did use running socks and anti-chafing cream for runs. For the Shawnee Mission Triathlon, we used the Belaga socks we tested out with anti-chafing and they worked great inside the heat and around the hills with the park. We actually loved the SpeedForms for that short hectic runs. The runs are short enough never to cause issues with fallen arches and also the shoes are so light and airy feeling who's makes a runner wish to bust out a quick pace. One issue with the SpeedForms could be the tongue. It's a one-piece integrated design, and using the special fabric type, it can be ultra-thin and easily bunches within the shoe if put on while using laces pre-tied. In order to avoid that annoying tongue scrunching and rubbing, wearers must put just a little more effort into pulling the tongue tight and having the kinks out. While going out for a run or outdoors, this would not be a real issue, but after a triathlon jamming around the shoes trying to find out of T2 asap, it could cause a slow down. Foot cadence isn't affected, and actually is probably an aid to prospects looking to enhance their foot turnover. At 6 oz, it's lock wearing a thick set of socks caught, but with just a little more protection. Another detraction could be the ease where the shoes could possibly get scuffed up. The fabric is distinct from the typical running sneakers and attract scuffs and marks comparable to regular light clothing. All in all of the, the SpeedForms stay relatively clean, but when the 5 and 2 year old kids stomp on you trying to get that you pick them up, they leave marks. Those darn crumb snatchers. One last drawback could possibly be sweaty feet. It took just a little time to have used on the shoes as they do not feel as breathable since the standard athletic shoes. The insufficient mesh can be a loss in breathability, but SpeedForms contain the holes to get rid of foot heat. After wearing them for any few days, we've got used for the change and foot sweating wasn't an issue. Cost At $119.99, SpeedForms usually are not cheap. Savvy buyers will go find lightweight running shoes for $50 and even less, though the adage holds true that you get that which you pay for. You will not likely get the fit and feeling that this SpeedForms offer. You won't have them even while using $100 shoes. The SpeedForms are truly different. Final thoughts Now, whether that difference can be a good fit for everybody is up for debate. They are lightweight shoes understanding that does not work for everyone. Don't injure yourself attempting to fit in to a cool shoe. But, although you may use stability shoes for the staple trainer and race shoe, you'll find nothing that says using the SpeedForm for one or two workouts weekly won't actually improve foot strength by looking into making it make amends for short durations to build strength up in areas not normally used with regular shoes. Just be smart regarding it. Don't drop your motion control cold turkey and switch to SpeedForm at one time. Slow and steady transition. Really, you will not find many shoes like the SpeedForms. That's where they have you on price. If you want that special feeling, you are going to have to spend on it. They hold the right mixture of function, fit and personality. We've used them in training, racing and casual wear and so they work in all of the scenarios, admirably. If you have the funds, go ahead and try them out. They may serve as your trainer, racer and cross training shoe any day in the week.
