Under Armour SpeedForm running footwear review - National Endurance Sports Men, be honest, you are dieing to understand it would feel as if to wear a bra. What would that soft supple fabric seem like pressed up against your hairy man chest? Well, unless you happen to be going to buy a Bro or Manssiere, you will end up waiting a little bit longer for that bra feeling against your chest. But, in the meantime, you might take in how Under Armour applies the bra concept to their latest athletic shoes, SpeedForm. Every triathlete is out there looking for the perfect combination of comfort, affordability, performance, durability and aesthetics with regards to running shoes. Some have more money to research the latest and greatest shoes and a few have their well-versed $35 set of specific brands and models that they live and die by. There a large number of choices between minimalists, lightweight, stability, motion control, neutral as well as a heck of the lot more. The best bet is to get feet measured at the local running store and start trying shoes out. If you've some cash to purchase your health, another layer of selecting the correct shoe should be to hit your local chiropractor or sports exercise specialists for many screening and gait analysis to find out your foot structure and what forms of shoes would best fit your feet. That would at the very least arm you with ammunition in the first place the right shoe section. That being said, SpeedForm is probably not the shoe to suit your needs. They are not motion control nor will be the stability control. Unless you happen to be working with good form or happen to be slowly progressing to lightweight running shoes, they may cause some issues for you personally. But don't let that scare you away. Under Armour sent us a couple of electric blue SpeedForms and we are faraway from minimalist shoe wearers. We tried them out with caution and didn't just go out for a 15 mile training run. We wore these phones the store, to church, treadmill workouts, indoor track workouts, paved trail runs and street running. We also sported them at the Shawnee Mission Triathlon and now (and 4.5 miles of nasty heal strike in the race), we've got the follow review to express. Read on. Packaging / Shelf Appeal / Marketing 'This is what fast feels like'. That's a bold statement for any shoe box. Under Armour is offered and has no qualms about putting themselves around. The box is large, and they also probably need that for the size of the ego how the shoes bring with the product line reveal. They are pimping this footwear hard and do not spare any marketing expense. Even with size 12 for this review, the box size wasn't necessary to be that huge, but that's the way they come. As one would expect coming from a big sportswear manufacturer, the look and packaging is not short of professional and first class. You definitely won't confuse this footwear with something produced in someone's knitting room during their spare time. You probably wouldn't connect these sneakers to a bra manufacturing process just through the packaging. Form / Construction UA boasts that SpeedForms can be a new type of running shoe with without any seams that's stated in a bra factory in China. The Speedform's heel cup is devoid of any stitching and is made from one piece of material. From their website, they post the subsequent description regarding the science and construction with the SpeedForms; Upon inspection, the shoe looks sharp and well put together. There aren't any sloppy seams and transition from soul to footbed. It's what they claim inside sense of seamless. There are no insoles to obtain (those who use orthotics could possibly be out of luck using the SpeedForms as there is no extra room being made by removing the factory insole). It's super light, but may come as basically one piece and feels solid. The fabric is bendable, foldable and malleable to a lot of different shapes and contortions, but bounces back with no problem, despite being stuffed right into a gym bag for the few days. Honestly, it's nothing beats any kind of shoe we now have typically ran in. Soft and supple, but strong and manly at the same time. Kind of like, 'strong enough to get a man, but created for women'. Fashion / Appearance It harkens to the five-finger shoes and toe socks in the toe box, but inside the shoe is identical shape we triathletes will always be used to. There are not any toes in the shoe, and all one open toe box. The bottom in the soul is a unique design that takes after the natural foot layout rather than some funky scientifically developed pattern which provides some magic energy savings. Mother nature constructed feet for a reason, understanding that original design might be worth keeping. The shoes are appealing in a shock value type of way. The colors usually are not wild, but they certainly are a little neon and do stand out inside a crowd. Yes, we wore the crooks to church to interrupt them in with the request individuals five year old daughter, plus they got some looks. They are clean, simple and functional in look. There's no excessive and inordinate level of symbols and logos about the shoes. There are not any overcompensation for shiny baubles around the design to distract buyers from the lame duck shoe design, because as we are going to get to, SpeedForms deliver. Fit / Function The SpeedForms really do feel distinct from any other shoe we have tried. It's similar to water socks that one could run in, except these won't blister you up (so long as you wear socks). They hug across the ankle, but not in the Aunt Betty-haven't-seen-you-in 10 years type of way. It's firm, but not constrictive. The toe box is a little around the big side, but that didn't cause us a problem overall. In full disclosure, with one of these being like lightweight jogging shoes, most workouts or runs at the same time were below 5 miles and in most cases sprint intervals, hill intervals, tempo runs or lifting weights sessions. The SpeedForms were chosen for 2 workouts per week and worn casually in between for the total of about 50 miles for this review. There were no issues with traction for the running surface or inside the shoe with the foot slipping around. When laced up, the SpeedForms were as effective as it grows to having a running footwear feel like a second skin. Now, we did use running socks and anti-chafing cream for longer runs. For the Shawnee Mission Triathlon, we used the Belaga socks we tested out with anti-chafing and so they worked great inside heat and about the hills from the park. We actually loved the SpeedForms to the short hectic runs. The runs are short enough to not cause problems with fallen arches along with the shoes are so light and airy feeling who's makes a runner need to bust out an easy pace. One issue using the SpeedForms could be the tongue. It's a one-piece integrated design, and with the special fabric type, it really is ultra-thin and easily bunches inside shoe if put on with the laces pre-tied. In order to stop that annoying tongue scrunching and rubbing, wearers have to put somewhat more effort into pulling the tongue tight and becoming the kinks out. While going out for any run or out and about, this would not be a real issue, but during a triathlon jamming about the shoes looking to get out of T2 asap, it might cause a slow. Foot cadence isn't affected, and in fact is probably an aid to the people looking to enhance their foot turnover. At 6 oz, it's lock wearing a thick set of two socks caught, but with a bit more protection. Another detraction might be the ease where the shoes will get scuffed up. The fabric is unique of the typical athletic shoes and attract scuffs and marks just like regular light clothing. All in every, the SpeedForms stay relatively clean, when the 5 and a pair of year old kids stomp on feet trying to get one to pick them up, they leave marks. Those darn crumb snatchers. One last drawback could possibly be sweaty feet. It took a little time to have used on the shoes they do not feel as breathable as the standard jogging shoes. The deficiency of mesh is really a loss in breathability, but SpeedForms contain the holes so you can get rid of foot heat. After wearing them to get a few days, we've got used on the change and foot sweating had not been an issue. Cost At $119.99, SpeedForms are certainly not cheap. Savvy buyers can be find lightweight running shoes for $50 and even less, though the adage applies that you get what you pay for. You will not likely get the fit and feeling how the SpeedForms offer. You won't buy them even while using $100 shoes. The SpeedForms are truly different. Final thoughts Now, whether that difference is often a good fit for anyone is up for debate. They are lightweight shoes understanding that does not work for anyone. Don't injure yourself wanting to fit right into a cool shoe. But, although you may use stability shoes for the staple trainer and race shoe, you'll find nothing that says while using the SpeedForm for 1 or 2 workouts every week won't actually improve foot strength by making it make amends for short amounts of time to build strength up in areas not normally used with regular shoes. Just be smart about it. Don't drop your motion control cold turkey and switch the signal from SpeedForm at the same time. Slow and steady transition. Really, you'll not find many shoes much like the SpeedForms. That's where they have got you on price. If you would like that special feeling, you're going to have to purchase it. They contain the right mix of function, fit and personality. We've used them in training, racing and casual wear plus they work in most scenarios, admirably. If you've the funds, by all means try them out. They may serve as your trainer, racer and cross training shoe any day of the week.
