Under Armour SpeedForm running footwear review - National Endurance Sports Men, be honest, you might be dieing to understand what it would feel like to wear a bra. What would that soft supple fabric seem like pressed against your hairy man chest? Well, unless you're going to buy a Bro or Manssiere, you will be waiting somewhat longer to the bra feeling against your chest. But, meanwhile, you could have in how Under Armour applies the bra concept to their latest running footwear, SpeedForm. Every triathlete is out there looking for an ideal combination of comfort, affordability, performance, durability and aesthetics with regards to running shoes. Some have an overabundance money look around the latest and greatest shoes and some have their tried and tested $35 set of two specific brands and models that they can live and die by. There a large number of choices between minimalists, lightweight, stability, motion control, neutral along with a heck of your lot more. The best option is to get the feet measured at the local running store and commence trying shoes out. If you have some cash to purchase your health, another layer of selecting the correct shoe should be to hit your local chiropractor or sports exercise specialists for many screening and gait analysis to find out your foot structure and what types of shoes would best fit you. That would a minimum of arm you with ammunition in the first place the right shoe section. That being said, SpeedForm most likely are not the shoe for you personally. They are not motion control nor are the stability control. Unless you're working with good form or are already slowly progressing to lightweight jogging shoes, they might cause some issues for you. But don't let that scare you away. Under Armour sent us a set of two electric blue SpeedForms and that we are not even close to minimalist shoe wearers. We tried them out with caution and didn't just go out for the 15 mile training run. We wore the crooks to the store, to church, treadmill workouts, indoor track workouts, paved trail runs and street running. We also sported them in the Shawnee Mission Triathlon and i believe that now (and 4.5 miles of nasty heal strike during the race), we've got the follow review to talk about. Read on. Packaging / Shelf Appeal / Marketing 'This is what fast feels like'. That's a bold statement for any shoe box. Under Armour is out there and has no qualms about putting themselves available. The box is large, and they probably need that for your size from the ego that this shoes bring using the product line roll out. They are pimping this footwear hard and don't spare any marketing expense. Even with size 12 with this review, the box size wasn't necessary to be that huge, that is the way they come. As one would expect coming from a big sportswear manufacturer, the design and packaging is nothing short of professional and highly rated. You definitely won't confuse these shoes with something stated in someone's knitting room in their spare time. You probably wouldn't connect these sneakers to a bra manufacturing process just from the packaging. Form / Construction UA boasts that SpeedForms certainly are a new type of runners with hardly any seams that's manufactured in a bra factory in China. The Speedform's heel cup is without any stitching which is made from one bit of material. From their website, they post these description concerning the science and construction of the SpeedForms; Upon inspection, the shoe looks sharp and well put together. There are no sloppy seams and transition from soul to footbed. It's what you claim within the sense of seamless. There are not any insoles to get (people who use orthotics might be out of luck while using SpeedForms as there is no extra room being made by taking out the factory insole). It's super light, but has come about as basically one piece and feels solid. The fabric is bendable, foldable and malleable to many people different shapes and contortions, but bounces back with no problem, even with being stuffed right into a gym bag for a few days. Honestly, it's nothing can beat any type of shoe we've typically ran in. Soft and supple, but strong and manly at one time. Kind of like, 'strong enough for any man, but generated for women'. Fashion / Appearance It harkens for the five-finger shoes and toe socks through the toe box, but inside the shoe is the same shape we triathletes will always be used to. There aren't any toes inside shoe, and it's really all one open toe box. The bottom from the soul is really a unique design that can after the natural foot layout as opposed to some funky scientifically developed pattern that delivers some magic energy savings. Mother nature seen feet to get a reason, knowning that original design could be worth keeping. The shoes are appealing in the shock value kind of way. The colors are not wild, but they are a little neon and do stand out in a crowd. Yes, we wore them to church to destroy them in in the request in our five yr old daughter, and they also got some looks. They are clean, basic and functional in look. There's no excessive and inordinate amount of symbols and logos around the shoes. There are no overcompensation for shiny baubles about the design to distract buyers from your lame duck shoe design, because as we are going to get to, SpeedForms deliver. Fit / Function The SpeedForms really do feel distinct from any other shoe we've tried. It's similar to water socks that one could run in, except these won't blister you up (if you wear socks). They hug throughout the ankle, but not in the Aunt Betty-haven't-seen-you-in 10 years type of way. It's firm, however, not constrictive. The toe box can be a little for the big side, but that didn't cause us a difficulty overall. In full disclosure, with these being such as lightweight running sneakers, most workouts or runs at a time were lower than 5 miles and in most cases sprint intervals, hill intervals, tempo runs or resistance training sessions. The SpeedForms were chosen for 2 workouts per week and worn casually in between for any total of about 50 miles just for this review. There were no problems with traction around the running surface or from the shoe while using foot slipping around. When laced up, the SpeedForms were as well as it gets to having a running shoe feel like a second skin. Now, we did use running socks and anti-chafing cream for runs. For the Shawnee Mission Triathlon, we used the Belaga socks we tested out with anti-chafing plus they worked great inside the heat and on the hills in the park. We actually loved the SpeedForms for the short overly busy runs. The runs are short enough never to cause difficulties with fallen arches and the shoes are so light and airy feeling who's makes a runner need to bust out a quick pace. One issue using the SpeedForms is the tongue. It's a one-piece integrated design, and with the special fabric type, it is ultra-thin and easily bunches in the shoe if put on using the laces pre-tied. In order to prevent that annoying tongue scrunching and rubbing, wearers must put a bit more effort into pulling the tongue tight and having the kinks out. While going out for any run or out and about, this wouldn't be a real issue, but within a triathlon jamming around the shoes hoping to get out of T2 asap, it could cause a slow down. Foot cadence is just not affected, and in reality is probably an aid to prospects looking to improve their foot turnover. At 6 oz, it's lock wearing a thick pair of socks running around, but with somewhat more protection. Another detraction might be the ease where the shoes could possibly get scuffed up. The fabric is distinct from the typical athletic shoes and attract scuffs and marks comparable to regular light clothing. All in all, the SpeedForms stay relatively clean, when the 5 and a couple of year old kids stomp on your feet trying to get you to definitely pick them up, they leave marks. Those darn crumb snatchers. One last drawback could be sweaty feet. It took a bit time to obtain used for the shoes as they do not feel as breathable because standard running sneakers. The deficiency of mesh is a loss in breathability, but SpeedForms have the holes to get rid of foot heat. After wearing them for any few days, we've got used to the change and foot sweating had not been an issue. Cost At $119.99, SpeedForms are not cheap. Savvy buyers can go find lightweight running shoes for $50 and even less, nevertheless the adage is valid that you get that which you pay for. You will not get the fit and feeling that this SpeedForms offer. You won't get them even with the $100 shoes. The SpeedForms are truly different. Final thoughts Now, whether that difference can be a good fit for everybody is up for debate. They are lightweight shoes understanding that does not work for all. Don't injure yourself wanting to fit in to a cool shoe. But, in case you use stability shoes on your staple trainer and race shoe, you'll find nothing that says using the SpeedForm for a couple of workouts per week won't actually improve foot strength by making it atone for short durations to build strength up in areas not normally used with regular shoes. Just be smart about it. Don't drop your motion control cold turkey and switch the signal from SpeedForm at the same time. Slow and steady transition. Really, you may not find many shoes like the SpeedForms. That's where they've you on price. If you desire that special feeling, you are going to have to buy it. They have the right combination of function, fit and personality. We've used them in training, racing and casual wear and they work in all of the scenarios, admirably. If you have the funds, by all means try them out. They may serve as your trainer, racer and cross training shoe any day with the week.
