Under Armour SpeedForm running shoe review - National Endurance Sports Men, admit it, you're dieing to know what it would feel as if to wear a bra. What would that soft supple fabric feel like pressed against your hairy man chest? Well, unless you are going to buy a Bro or Manssiere, you will be waiting somewhat longer with the bra feeling against your chest. But, for the time being, you could take in how Under Armour applies the bra concept to their latest runners, SpeedForm. Every triathlete is on the market looking for an ideal combination of comfort, affordability, performance, durability and aesthetics in relation to running shoes. Some have more money to research the latest and greatest shoes plus some have their well known $35 pair of specific brands and models they live and die by. There a multitude of choices between minimalists, lightweight, stability, motion control, neutral plus a heck of the lot more. The best option is to get you measured at your local running store and start trying shoes out. If you've got some cash to invest in your health, another layer of picking the right shoe is always to hit any local chiropractor or sports exercise specialists for some screening and gait analysis to learn your foot structure and what kinds of shoes would best fit the feet. That would at the very least arm you with ammunition in the first place the right shoe section. That being said, SpeedForm is probably not the shoe to suit your needs. They are not motion control nor are the stability control. Unless you happen to be working with good form or are already slowly progressing to lightweight running sneakers, they could cause some issues for you personally. But don't let that scare you away. Under Armour sent us a set of electric blue SpeedForms and now we are not even close to minimalist shoe wearers. We tried them out with caution and didn't just go out for any 15 mile training run. We wore them to the store, to church, treadmill workouts, indoor track workouts, paved trail runs and street running. We also sported them with the Shawnee Mission Triathlon and after all that (and 4.5 miles of nasty heal strike in the race), we have the follow review to express. Read on. Packaging / Shelf Appeal / Marketing 'This is what fast feels like'. That's a bold statement for a shoe box. Under Armour is out there and has no qualms about putting themselves out there. The box is huge, and so they probably need that for your size of the ego that the shoes bring using the product line reveal. They are pimping these footwear hard , nor spare any marketing expense. Even with size 12 just for this review, this area size wasn't required to be that huge, but that's the way they come. As you are likely to expect from the big sportswear manufacturer, the design and packaging is not short of professional and top notch. You definitely won't confuse this footwear with something stated in someone's knitting room in their spare time. You probably wouldn't connect these sneakers to a bra manufacturing process just from the packaging. Form / Construction UA boasts that SpeedForms really are a new type of running footwear with without any seams that's stated in a bra factory in China. The Speedform's heel cup is devoid of any stitching and is made from one bit of material. From the website, they post these description regarding the science and construction with the SpeedForms; Upon inspection, the shoe looks sharp and well put together. There are no sloppy seams and transition from soul to footbed. It's the things they claim inside sense of seamless. There aren't insoles to take out (people who use orthotics may be out of luck using the SpeedForms as there is no extra room to get made by treatment of factory insole). It's super light, but may come as basically one piece and feels solid. The fabric is bendable, foldable and malleable to a lot of different shapes and contortions, but bounces back quickly and easily, even though being stuffed into a gym bag for the few days. Honestly, it's nothing beats any sort of shoe we now have typically ran in. Soft and supple, but strong and manly at one time. Kind of like, 'strong enough for any man, but created for women'. Fashion / Appearance It harkens on the five-finger shoes and toe socks in the toe box, but inside shoe is similar shape we triathletes will always be used to. There aren't any toes within the shoe, and all one open toe box. The bottom of the soul is really a unique design that takes after the natural foot layout in lieu of some funky scientifically developed pattern which provides some magic energy savings. Mother nature constructed feet to get a reason, and that original design might be worth keeping. The shoes are appealing inside a shock value form of way. The colors aren't wild, but they certainly are a little neon and do stand out inside a crowd. Yes, we wore them to church to interrupt them in at the request individuals five yr old daughter, and so they got some looks. They are clean, simple and functional to look at. There's no excessive and inordinate volume of symbols and logos on the shoes. There aren't any overcompensation for shiny baubles around the design to distract buyers from the lame duck shoe design, because as we are going to get to, SpeedForms deliver. Fit / Function The SpeedForms really do feel distinct from any other shoe we've tried. It's comparable to water socks that you can run in, except these won't blister you up (if you wear socks). They hug round the ankle, but not in a very Aunt Betty-haven't-seen-you-in 10 years form of way. It's firm, and not constrictive. The toe box can be a little about the big side, but that didn't cause us an issue overall. In full disclosure, with your being like lightweight athletic shoes, most workouts or runs at any given time were below 5 miles and often sprint intervals, hill intervals, tempo runs or lifting weights sessions. The SpeedForms were utilized for 2 workouts each week and worn casually in between for any total close to 50 miles for this review. There were no difficulty with traction about the running surface or inside the shoe with all the foot slipping around. When laced up, the SpeedForms were as good as it reaches having a running footwear feel like an extra skin. Now, we did use running socks and anti-chafing cream for runs. For the Shawnee Mission Triathlon, we used the Belaga socks we tested out with anti-chafing and they also worked great in the heat and about the hills from the park. We actually loved the SpeedForms for the short overly busy runs. The runs are short enough not to cause issues with fallen arches and also the shoes are so light and airy feeling which it makes a runner need to bust out a fast pace. One issue with all the SpeedForms could be the tongue. It's a one-piece integrated design, and with all the special fabric type, it's ultra-thin and easily bunches inside the shoe if put on while using laces pre-tied. In order to avoid that annoying tongue scrunching and rubbing, wearers should put just a little more effort into pulling the tongue tight and getting the kinks out. While going out for any run or on an outing, this wouldn't be a real issue, but within a triathlon jamming on the shoes hoping to get out of T2 asap, it may cause a slow. Foot cadence is not affected, and in fact is probably an aid to the people looking to improve their foot turnover. At 6 oz, it's lock wearing a thick set of socks caught, but with a bit more protection. Another detraction might be the ease from which the shoes could get scuffed up. The fabric is unique of the typical athletic shoes and attract scuffs and marks comparable to regular light clothing. All in all of the, the SpeedForms stay relatively clean, when the 5 and a pair of year old kids stomp on feet trying to get one to pick them up, they leave marks. Those darn crumb snatchers. One last drawback could be sweaty feet. It took just a little time to have used to the shoes as they do not feel as breathable as the standard running sneakers. The deficiency of mesh is often a loss in breathability, but SpeedForms contain the holes to get rid of foot heat. After wearing them for any few days, we've got used to the change and foot sweating has not been an issue. Cost At $119.99, SpeedForms aren't cheap. Savvy buyers may go find lightweight running shoes for $50 or perhaps less, nevertheless the adage holds true that you get what you pay for. You won't get the fit and feeling the SpeedForms offer. You won't buy them even with the $100 shoes. The SpeedForms are truly different. Final thoughts Now, whether that difference is often a good fit for everybody is up for debate. They are lightweight shoes which does not work for all. Don't injure yourself trying to fit into a cool shoe. But, even if you use stability shoes to your staple trainer and race shoe, you'll find nothing that says while using the SpeedForm for one or two workouts every week won't actually improve foot strength start by making it make up for short periods of time to build strength up in areas not normally used with regular shoes. Just be smart about it. Don't drop your motion control cold turkey and switch to SpeedForm all at one time. Slow and steady transition. Really, you'll not find many shoes just like the SpeedForms. That's where they've got you on price. If you want that special feeling, you will have to buy it. They possess the right mix of function, fit and personality. We've used them in training, racing and casual wear and they work in all scenarios, admirably. If you've the funds, of course try them out. They is your trainer, racer and cross training shoe any day in the week.
