Some product are already treated when you buy them.

Lumber used in retaining walls, decks, and playground equipment is often treated with preservatives to protect against wood rots and insects.

Tick and Flea collars for the pet are treated with insecticides that move out of the collar and into the pets system to inhibit fleas.

Garden seeds are often treated with fungicides to protect against rots and blights. Such seeds are coated with a bright dye to warn you of the present pesticide.
