Pesticides and the Law > Pesticides Laws and Regulations

Your teenage son mows neighbors' lawns in the summer, and gets paid a little extra to apply some granular Weed "N" Feed product.

Your son:

  • Stores the Weed 'N' Feed in a locked cabinet in your garage.
  • Applied products according to label.
  • Puts empty bags in the trash

Is he doing anything wrong?

Your son seems to be handling the pesticide correctly. However, to apply pesticides in the state of Wisconsin for a customer, your son would have to be certified and licensed by the state. Every state has some version of this and the details may vary depending on the State.
Sorry, Incorrect.
