Signal Word
Example:
WARNING
The signal word provides a quick reference to the relative acute* toxicity of the product you are using.
Sort of like a "heads up."
These signal words go from the most toxicity:
DANGER-POISON
DANGER
WARNING
CAUTION
CAUTION being the least toxic. A signal word of Caution does not mean that there are no risks, but only that that product is low on this relative scale.
*Acute toxicity are the effects within 48 hours of exposure. These do not take into account any possible delayed effects or chronic exposure effects.
