Pesticides and the Law > Pesticides Label

Pests Controlled

Example:

Will control:

   dandelion
   checkweed
   common purslane
   henbit. . .

A label will provide the pests that the product has an effect on. The pests listed are pests that the manufacturer has identified that the product controls. If a pest is not on the label, it does not always means that it will have no effect on that pest, it simply means that the manufacturer feels that the effect is too inconsistent or they simply have not looked yet.

If you happen to control a pest that is not on the label AND you have used the product according to the label, BONUS! For example you are applying the pesticide to your dandelion and it also controls creeping Charlie, that is a good thing. Yah!

However, if you try to use it to control creeping Charlie and it is not on the label and it does not work, then you have wasted your money and introduced a pesticide into the environment for no benefit.
