Broadleaved plants belong to a group of plants called dicots. When broadleaved seeds germinate they produce TWO cotyledon or seed leaves. Broadleaved plants generally have wider leaves, net or palmate veins, and often have a taproot system. However, in nature there are often exceptions to any statement.
