[00:00:13.04] This other company was out there, [00:00:14.08] saying, "Hey. We're looking for transcriptionists." [00:00:18.04] I clicked on it. [00:00:19.06] Moved very quickly. [00:00:21.02] Within less than a week, I was already working. [00:00:24.03] - Rev is first and foremost a translation [00:00:26.08] and transcription agency [00:00:28.06] and flexibility is extremely important to me as a student. [00:00:32.02] We can claim jobs as we like, [00:00:33.09] or we can not claim jobs if we don't have time to do them. [00:00:37.00] - I'm getting paid to transcribe these [00:00:41.05] and I'm learning things. [00:00:43.05] I've typed sermons, some great, inspiring sermons. [00:00:48.03] I'm getting to do all this fun stuff and I'm learning [00:00:51.09] and that is just a tremendous experience. [00:00:54.02] - I like the challenge of a word [00:00:56.03] and the most challenging part of my job [00:00:59.00] is when I am transcribing something [00:01:01.06] and they use a word that I don't know. [00:01:03.09] I look it up and I want to make sure I know what it is, [00:01:07.00] that it fits the context of the sentence. [00:01:09.01] Then, I try to - I do this with my kids. [00:01:11.01] I try to use it. [00:01:12.08] - I feel like I've gotten to know Rev as a company [00:01:16.03] and the executives, even, at Rev [00:01:18.04] and it's nice to have that more personal connection, [00:01:20.08] even though it's such a big company. [00:01:23.02] - You know what? [00:01:24.02] They're real people. [00:01:24.08] They're real people and I like that. [00:01:26.03] They're real people and they treat you like a real person. [00:01:28.05] - I really was shocked. [00:01:29.09] I called my husband and said, [00:01:31.02] "Hey, not only did I get a job, [00:01:32.03] "but I've already earned money today. [00:01:33.04] "What do you think of that?" [00:01:34.07] You're always leery about anything that says, [00:01:38.03] "Work from home." [00:01:39.02] It's got a negative connotation to it [00:01:41.03] and everybody thinks it's a scam, [00:01:44.00] but Rev is not. [00:01:44.08] It's not a scam. [00:01:45.07] I truly get paid every week, [00:01:47.01] which is also fantastic. [00:01:49.08] - I did recently purchase a house in Urbana [00:01:52.02] and that was a big commitment, [00:01:54.07] a large part of which was financed by my work with Rev. [00:01:58.09] It's been great, not only in the here and the now for the income, [00:02:03.05] but also as a professional development thing. [00:02:06.06] It's invaluable, as far as what it's going to do [00:02:08.09] for my job security and my options [00:02:11.04] when I get out of school and start looking for full time work. [00:02:15.08] - I don't miss school appointments or school plays [00:02:19.00] or that kind of thing. [00:02:20.05] We don't miss soccer practice, we don't miss soccer games. [00:02:22.08] Those are benefits that you can't get in an office. [00:02:26.07] - I get to work for a living, [00:02:28.04] earn some money, work for a company I like, [00:02:30.09] and pursue my passion, which is writing. [00:02:34.08] I'm not sure how it can get much better than that. [00:02:37.06] (bright music plays) [00:02:42.06]
