Getting the right fit with your running sneakers - Philadelphia running fitness If you are planning to run any big races this spring so you think you might need new running shoes, this is the time to take care of it. You need a minimum of a month to interrupt in the new shoes and ensure that they fit well. As a serial shopper, I have tried every approach to buy running shoes. I was originally fit for shoes when I trained for my first marathon. After that I continued to purchase my shoes online. I always tied to the same brand and model and never had any trouble. This past fall my trusty jogging shoes started to give me trouble. I was having horrible foot pain and could barely figure to run farther when compared to a mile. I attended the Bryn Mawr Running Company and I was fit for brand spanking new sneakers. Turns out I had been wearing a half size too big; I was wearing an 8.5 and took place to an 8, along with the wrong kind of shoe for my feet and stride. I switched from my lovely Mizunos with a great couple of Asics. I spent earlier this fall injured and took some time off from running. When I got returning to running, I need new shoes again. I was tempted to acquire another pair online but I went back to the running store and was fit again. I got yet another excellent pair of running shoes, but switched brands again. These new shoes, Nikes, required me to visit down another half size. After this experience I see the value of being fit for my shoes. Every brand and model runs differently and with athletic shoes costing $80-$120 some, it's worth it to make it right. As an additional benefit, once you buy your shoes from a running store, you can usually take them into consideration on a treadmill after which exchange them in case you are unhappy with all the fit. This allows you to get the best set of two shoes for your feet.
