Getting the right fit with your jogging shoes - Philadelphia running fitness If you are planning to run any big races this spring and you also think you may want new running sneakers, it is now time to take care of it. You need a minimum of a month to destroy in the new shoes and ensure that they fit well. As a serial shopper, I have tried every method to buy running sneakers. I was originally fit for shoes when I trained for my first marathon. After that I continued to purchase my shoes online. I always bound to the same brand and model rather than had any difficulty. This past fall my trusty jogging shoes started to supply trouble. I was having horrible foot pain and can barely figure to run farther than the usual mile. I attended the Bryn Mawr Running Company and I was fit for new sneakers. Turns out I had been wearing a half size too big; I was wearing an 8.5 and took place to an 8, along with the wrong type of shoe for my feet and stride. I switched from my lovely Mizunos with a great set of two Asics. I spent earlier this fall injured and took a little while off from running. When I got time for running, I need new shoes again. I was tempted to buy another pair online but alternatively I went to the running store and was fit again. I got an excellent pair of athletic shoes, but switched brands again. These new shoes, Nikes, required me to visit down another half size. After this experience I see the significance of being fit for my shoes. Every brand name and model runs differently and with jogging shoes costing $80-$120 manboobs, it is worth it to get it right. As an additional benefit, if you buy your shoes from your running store, you'll be able to usually try them out on a treadmill and then exchange them in case you are unhappy while using fit. This lets you get the best set of shoes to your feet. To help you along, listed here is a list of some local running & sporting goods stores where it is possible to get fit for brand spanking new shoes: Bryn Mawr Running Company (Bryn Mawr, Media & Manayunk)Philadelphia Runner (Center City & University City)The Running Place (Newtown Square)City Sports (Ardmore & Center City) Wishing you all happy feet and strong strides! |
