Paleo Girl serves up Primal weight loss and advice: Favorite recipes - National diets Say hello to Paleo Girl. That's the nickname for Leslie Klenke, a knowledgeable young woman who decided to fill the missing link between Paleo books for youngsters such as Paleo Kids and Paleo books for adults including "Practical Paleo." She created it after talking to Mark Sisson, author of "The Primal Blueprint: Reprogram your genes for effortless fat loss, vibrant health, and boundless energy." Leslie created the book based on "the topics I wish I understood when I myself was a teen: nutrition, fitness, sun, sleep, play, puberty, peer pressure, bullies, eating disorders, motivation, happiness, recipes, and a few real world successes. I knew it was obviously a lot of information for example book, but I really wanted to develop an entire lifestyle help guide help teens via a potentially tricky stage in everyday life." In relation to Paleo dieting, Leslie feels that "being overweight can be quite a real struggle'especially in a society that puts too much focus on our external self. When we're built to feel bad about our looks, it can really destroy our self-esteem and self-worth at every age." And your way to a healthy weight begins from within, says Leslie. "In addition to wanting to get in great shape, the direction to wellness should also begin with a wish to learn to love and respect the person you are. A pursuit to find true health insurance happiness, rather than the smallest number you can put on the scale, will ensure you experience long-term success. After all, dieting and exercise are easy to enjoy if you care about yourself." In addition, however, "a Paleo lifestyle can almost effortlessly allow you to lose weight and/or become healthy'the right way." How does a Paleo diet allow you to lose weight? Leslie offers these insights: "When you eat food that increases your blood glucose levels level (as an example, bread includes a high glycemic index), your body responds by secreting insulin to get your blood glucose levels back down. Excess insulin ultimately gets to be fat. When you consume paleo friendly foods, you minimize insulin release which will help prevent this process." For individuals who have problems sticking with a diet because they are hungry, Leslie notes that this Paleo diet is "satiating. When you take in high quality fats, you will get fuller quicker. Not to mention whenever you're consuming a diet of higher nutrition, your body is getting everything it must thrive. When you follow a Standard American Diet (SAD) or attempt a low fat or restricted calorie diet, you're likely consuming excessive processed junk instead of enough vitamin supplements. So, obviously you're going to feel like you're starving, because on the cellular level'you are!" We asked Leslie to share with you her two favorite recipes.
