Under Armour SpeedForm running shoe review - National Endurance Sports Men, will, you are dieing to understand it would think that to wear a bra. What would that soft supple fabric seem like pressed up against your hairy man chest? Well, unless you are going to buy a Bro or Manssiere, you may be waiting somewhat longer for your bra feeling against your chest. But, at the same time, you could have in how Under Armour applies the bra concept with their latest running shoe, SpeedForm. Every triathlete is on the market looking for the perfect combination of comfort, affordability, performance, durability and aesthetics in terms of running shoes. Some have an overabundance of money look around the latest and greatest shoes and some have their tried and true $35 set of specific brands and models that they can live and die by. There a multitude of choices between minimalists, lightweight, stability, motion control, neutral as well as a heck of an lot more. The best choice is to get the feet measured at the local running store and start trying shoes out. If you've some cash to buy your health, another layer of choosing the right shoe is usually to hit the local chiropractor or sports exercise specialists for many screening and gait analysis to discover your foot structure and what forms of shoes would best fit feet. That would a minimum of arm you with ammunition to start with the right shoe section. That being said, SpeedForm most likely are not the shoe to suit your needs. They are not motion control nor are the stability control. Unless you might be working with good form or have been slowly progressing to lightweight running shoes, they could cause some issues in your case. But don't let that scare you away. Under Armour sent us a pair of electric blue SpeedForms and we are definately not minimalist shoe wearers. We tried them out with caution and didn't just go out for a 15 mile training run. We wore the crooks to the store, to church, treadmill workouts, indoor track workouts, paved trail runs and street running. We also sported them with the Shawnee Mission Triathlon and now (and 4.5 miles of nasty heal strike in the race), we have the follow review to express. Read on. Packaging / Shelf Appeal / Marketing 'This is what fast feels like'. That's a bold statement for the shoe box. Under Armour exists and has no qualms about putting themselves on the market. The box is large, plus they probably need that for that size of the ego that this shoes bring using the product line unveil. They are pimping this footwear hard and spare any marketing expense. Even with size 12 because of this review, the lamp size wasn't forced to be that huge, but that's the way they come. As one could expect from the big sportswear manufacturer, the appearance and packaging are few things short of professional and highly rated. You definitely won't confuse these footwear with something produced in someone's knitting room in their spare time. You probably wouldn't connect this footwear to a bra manufacturing process just through the packaging. Form / Construction UA boasts that SpeedForms can be a new type of running footwear with without any seams that's made in a bra factory in China. The Speedform's heel cup is lacking any stitching and is also made from one piece of material. From their website, they post the following description about the science and construction with the SpeedForms; Upon inspection, the shoe looks sharp and well put together. There aren't sloppy seams and transition from soul to footbed. It's what you claim within the sense of seamless. There aren't any insoles to secure (those who use orthotics might be out of luck while using SpeedForms nevertheless there is no extra room to be made by detaching the factory insole). It's super light, but may come as basically one piece and feels solid. The fabric is bendable, foldable and malleable to many different shapes and contortions, but bounces back easily, even though being stuffed into a gym bag for a few days. Honestly, it's not like any type of shoe we've got typically ran in. Soft and supple, but strong and manly at one time. Kind of like, 'strong enough for any man, but generated for women'. Fashion / Appearance It harkens for the five-finger shoes and toe socks through the toe box, but within the shoe is similar shape we triathletes have always been used to. There aren't toes in the shoe, and it's all one open toe box. The bottom with the soul is a unique design that can take after the natural foot layout in lieu of some funky scientifically developed pattern which provides some magic energy savings. Mother nature made out feet to get a reason, knowning that original design might be worth keeping. The shoes are appealing in a shock value type of way. The colors are not wild, but they really are a little neon and do stand out in a very crowd. Yes, we wore them to church to break them in on the request individuals five year old daughter, plus they got some looks. They are clean, easy and functional in appearance. There's no excessive and inordinate amount of symbols and logos around the shoes. There aren't overcompensation for shiny baubles on the design to distract buyers from a lame duck shoe design, because as we'll get to, SpeedForms deliver. Fit / Function The SpeedForms do feel diverse from any other shoe we've tried. It's akin to water socks that one could run in, except these won't blister you up (so long as you wear socks). They hug around the ankle, but not in a very Aunt Betty-haven't-seen-you-in 10 years type of way. It's firm, and not constrictive. The toe box is a little for the big side, but that didn't cause us a difficulty overall. In full disclosure, using these being similar to lightweight running sneakers, most workouts or runs during a period were under 5 miles and usually sprint intervals, hill intervals, tempo runs or lifting weights sessions. The SpeedForms were utilised for 2 workouts a week and worn casually in between for any total close to 50 miles just for this review. There were no difficulty with traction around the running surface or inside the shoe with the foot slipping around. When laced up, the SpeedForms were as effective as it gets to having a running shoe feel like a second skin. Now, we did use running socks and anti-chafing cream longer runs. For the Shawnee Mission Triathlon, we used the Belaga socks we tested out with anti-chafing and they worked great inside heat and around the hills of the park. We actually loved the SpeedForms for your short overly busy runs. The runs are short enough to not cause difficulties with fallen arches and the shoes are so light and airy feeling which it makes a runner want to bust out a quick pace. One issue while using SpeedForms will be the tongue. It's a one-piece integrated design, and using the special fabric type, it can be ultra-thin and easily bunches inside shoe if put on using the laces pre-tied. In order to prevent that annoying tongue scrunching and rubbing, wearers need to put a little more effort into pulling the tongue tight and achieving the kinks out. While going out for the run or on an outing, this wouldn't be a real issue, but within a triathlon jamming about the shoes trying to get out of T2 asap, it could cause a slow down. Foot cadence is not affected, and in reality is probably an aid to people looking to improve their foot turnover. At 6 oz, it's lock wearing a thick couple of socks caught, but with somewhat more protection. Another detraction could possibly be the ease where the shoes can get scuffed up. The fabric is distinct from the typical running sneakers and attract scuffs and marks similar to regular light clothing. All in every, the SpeedForms stay relatively clean, but when the 5 and a pair of year old kids stomp on your feet trying to get you to definitely pick them up, they leave marks. Those darn crumb snatchers. One last drawback may be sweaty feet. It took somewhat time to have used to the shoes they do not feel as breathable since the standard athletic shoes. The insufficient mesh is really a loss in breathability, but SpeedForms contain the holes for getting rid of foot heat. After wearing them for the few days, we have got used towards the change and foot sweating wasn't an issue. Cost At $119.99, SpeedForms usually are not cheap. Savvy buyers can go find lightweight athletic shoes for $50 or even less, nevertheless the adage is true that you get that which you pay for. You will not likely get the fit and feeling that the SpeedForms offer. You won't buy them even while using $100 shoes. The SpeedForms are truly different. Final thoughts Now, whether that difference can be a good fit for anyone is up for debate. They are lightweight shoes understanding that does not work for everybody. Don't injure yourself attempting to fit in to a cool shoe. But, even though you use stability shoes to your staple trainer and race shoe, there is nothing that says using the SpeedForm for a few workouts weekly won't actually improve foot strength by causing it compensate for short amounts of time to build strength up in areas not normally used with regular shoes. Just be smart over it. Don't drop your motion control cold turkey and switch the signal from SpeedForm at one time. Slow and steady transition. Really, you may not find many shoes such as the SpeedForms. That's where they've you on price. If you desire that special feeling, you will have to spend on it. They hold the right blend of function, fit and personality. We've used them in training, racing and casual wear and so they work in all of the scenarios, admirably. If you might have the funds, by all means try them out. They is your trainer, racer and cross training shoe any day with the week.
