Mountain View College offers a full range of freshman and sophomore level academic credit courses which may be applied toward an associate degree or transferred to a four-year college or university. The Core Curriculum designed by the State of Texas Coordinating Board includes 42-47 hours and will transfer to public universities in the State of Texas. Mountain View College provides developmental education courses for individuals needing additional preparation for college-level reading, writing, and mathematics. English for speakers of other languages and conversational Spanish classes are also offered.
Career and technical education (CTE) programs prepare students for immediate entrance into the workforce. Along with traditional transfer class offerings, Mountain View College's technical program offerings include business administration, computer-aided design and drafting, computer technology, electronics, machine technology, nursing, and welding technology. The Workforce Development and Continuing Education (CE) programs of Mountain View College provide comprehensive, flexible, diverse, visionary instruction and services which are responsive to the needs of its corporate and community citizens through the provision of workforce training, continuing education and other outreach programs which enhance community and economic development. The goals of the division are to: (1) acquire and maintain funding to develop partnerships that lead to offering instructional programs to include literacy, corporate seminars and workshops, training, retraining, and certification programs; (2) be receptive to the economic, corporate and community needs; and (3) offer economic development activities that enhance the corporate and community workforce needs.
