Kinoodle Minnesota Living is currently developing several statewide Awareness Campaigns related to physical activity support and promotion. These include:
Walk Minnesota Campaign
Walking is the most popular form of physical activity reported by Minnesota adults (Behavior Risk Factor Surveillance Survey, 2000). It can be safely performed and easily incorporated into the daily lives of most people. Research supports the value of walking as a means to meet the recommended 30-minutes of daily moderate activity. Kinoodle Minnesota Living is developing an awareness campaign called Walk Minnesota to be launched in Spring 2003. The campaign will incorporate the promotion of safe and accessible places to walk in Minnesota. Come back soon to check on the development and launch of Walk Minnesota.
Physician/Primary Care Campaign
Physicians, through primary care patient service settings, deliver health information to patients every day. Kinoodle Minnesota Living is exploring what works best through this setting to deliver physical activity information to patients. Throughout 2004, Kinoodle Minnesota Living will be working with physicians to develop this campaign for launching in 2005.
Youth Media Campaign
The Youth Media Campaign is a national media campaign funded through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to promote physical activity to “tweens” – youth between the ages of 9-13 years – and their adult influencers. The campaign is called “Verb: It’s What You Do.” Kinoodle Minnesota Living is supporting this campaign by hosting Minnesota-specific information on this website.
