Stage 3 – Learning Plan

Learning Activities:
- Draw what is known about bees
- Develop own questions based on interests and assumptions
- Use authoritative sources to confirm, challenge and extend understandings about bee anatomy, behaviour, diet,
habitat and species
- Role play different aspect of bee life
- View visual media and use interactive media to understand, interpret and explain how bees communicate
- Do a waggle dance and a round dance
- Draw the location of flowers for a particular round or waggle dance
- Look at other types of bees – comparing with honey bee
- Teacher directed exploration / resources supplied / class discussion
- Constructed cardboard bee – grossly anatomically accurate
- Collect and display WOW fact with an explanation of why it is WOW.
