Compounds can breakdown through natural processes such as hydrolysis, the breaking of chemical bonds by water. Compounds breakdown and form other compounds as a natural process in chemistry. Pesticides can also do this. However, again, it is very dependent on the pesticide and the conditions the compound exists in.
