Dear Educator:
The National Theatre for Children believes that children need 21st Century Education Skills in order to be effective citizens. We design our curriculum to emphasize the 4Cs–Collaboration, Communication, Creativity and Critical Thinking.
How to Use this Teacher Guide:
1. Prior to the live performance, distribute the workbooks to the class and read the inside cover, explaining the vocabulary where needed and reviewing the plot of the story.
2. Attend the live performance of Showdown at Cash Canyon.
3. After the show, have the students complete the activities found in their workbooks. These activities reinforce the messages presented in the production and bolster Reading and Language Arts skills.
4. Share any of the material found in this Teacher Guide to give the students a broader understanding of the subject. Make sure to utilize techniques such as Think-Pair-Share, Journaling, Critical Thinking, etc.
5. Please go to HeyTeachers.org to evaluate the production and educational materials.
Thanks for your time and interest in Financial Literacy. Enjoy the performance!
