Release 7.3.0

8/18/09

New Features

 Refactor Room Usage Control

The usage control settings for time‑of‑day and day‑of‑week scheduling restrictions on rooms are

improved, including visual feedback for blocked times, and a better display for default and date‑based

 exception room controls.

 Scheduled Imports and Exports

The frequency, day pattern, and date range of import and export jobs can now be defined.  Jobs will run

 automatically while active.

 SIS Differencer

A real‑time SIS "differencer" is available to provide faster change updates from your SIS to Astra

Schedule.  This component service constantly scans a smaller, configurable sub‑set of your SIS data and

notifies an Astra Schedule process when a change is required.  This system drastically enhances the

speed of real‑time change processing.  Note:  This option is not available for text file import processes

without the use of an intermediate change table that can be queried.

 Effective Dates for Rooms

Support for effective dated room changes.  Users may define effective dates for rooms on which changes

may occur and then edit room properties on a given effective date.  Appropriate room properties are in

effect for activities being scheduled that begin on or after the defined effective date.

 Room Partitioning

Support for the configuration of partitioned rooms.  Room partitions may be configured as individual

rooms and linked as partitions for conflict checking.  Room partition records may be created on‑the‑fly

or linked after import as individual room records.

 Available Rooms and Resources Tool

Calendar option to quickly search for available rooms and/or equipment and services at specified times

and dates.  Multiple or recurring meetings may be entered as search criteria for events or to mimic an

academic section's meeting pattern.  Save and print the list, or create an event directly from the results.

 Meeting Patterns

Distinct academic meeting patterns are captured and added to the database.  The list of meeting

patterns may be edited and classified as "standard" for use during section record editing.  User

permissions are included to limit users to "standard" patterns.

 Accounting

A fully‑developed third‑party accounting application is included to provide event accounting functions.

Astra Schedule interfaces with the package to include room, equipment, service, customer, event, and

user synchronization.  Additionally, event estimates and invoices may be generated directly from within

Astra Schedule.  Report links are provided for viewing customer statements, item charges, and

 invoice/estimate details.

 Event Import Hub/Spoke

Import event records from an Excel spreadsheet.  The import process will add events, event meetings,

customers, contacts, event types, and event meeting types to the database.  Rooms and

equipment/services are associated to meetings if they match data that already exists in the system.
