The Student Progress Analysis must be performed prior to a Platinum Analysis run. The process applies students' academic history to program requirements (either program rules or Pathways) to determine their progress toward completion, as well as determines the next batch of eligible, helpful courses that students should take. The output of this process is an updated list of completed and planned courses for each student being considered in the analysis. The Student Progress Analysis sandbox option provides a way to update to this master planned course data.
Student planned course data must be updated at least once per analysis term (or whenever significant changes are made to student population or academic history) by running this sandbox process, but only one version (the latest one created) is retained. When an analysis is performed, the system will automatically utilize the latest planned course data to feed the analysis calculations.
To update Student Progress Analysis data, perform the following:
1.Click the Platinum Analytics Sandboxes option on the Analytics tab.
2.Click New and then choose Student Progress Analysis.
3.Enter a name for the Student Progress Analysis run.
4.Click the + icon to add any desired Campus or Term Type filters to the analysis.
5.Select the applicable Simulated Student Sandbox from the drop-down list.
This represents the simulated student population to be used during analysis. Student Progress Analysis will create student copies to represent these simulated students.
6.Select the applicable upcoming Analysis Term from the drop-down list. Related analysis term settings will be inherited from the term selection.
NOTE: Analysis Term Settings must be configured prior to this selection.
7.Click Save and Run Now to start the analysis, or Save and Close to return later.
