Hector's experience in the entrepreneurial field dates from 2001 and in that time has founded six enterprises, which have achieved a joint private investment of over U.S. $ 52 million with 2 successful exits. Hector has ventured in the pharmaceutics, retail, real estate, manufacturing and tech industries since 2001 and in 2013 co-founded Intangible, the first Mexican "Company Builder" and "Innovation Hub" focused on fostering technological entrepreneurship in Mexico. Additionally, in 2014 Hector co-founds Nazca Ventures, the first regional focused Latin-American Venture Capital fund which in turn merges with Mountain Partners AG in 2015. Hector is a Global Endeavor Entrepreneur and Industrial Engineer from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.
Andres is an entrepreneur and angel investor with more than 9 years of experience in the startup scene. He recently sold his tech company to a major telecommunications player and in early 2017 he joined Mountain Nazca as a Managing Partner. Andres has ventured in industries such as real estate, transportation and mobility, health and tech since 2008. During this time he has been active as an Angel investor investing in more than 10 companies. Before jumping into the entrepreneurial scene he worked in the private equity and investment banking industry for more than 8 years. Andres has a bachelors degree in Civil Engineer from Universidad Iberoamericana and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
Jaime has been a close advisor and investor of Mountain Nazca since its inception. He was a key player in the growth and consolidation of the firm and joined as Managing Partner in 2017. Jaime has vast experience in the financial, real estate, energy and technology industries. He is a founding partner and former board member of Grupo Financiero Actinver (USD 20B AUM), a board and investment committee member of Grupo Atlas (México’s 7th largest insurance group) and founder of Impulsa and Energia Tangible a 290+ MW hydro, solar and wind generation micro-portfolio sold in 2014. Prior to his entrepreneurial stage, Jaime was head of M&A for CIE B, closing more than 30 transactions in Latam, US and Europe, and M&A analyst for UBS in NYC and CDMX. Jaime has a bachelors degree in Business from ITAM in CDMX, an MBA from IESE School in Barcelona and an OPM form Harvard School of Business.
Maria joined Mountain Nazca in 2017. Prior to joining Mountain Nazca, Maria spent five years in the banking sector. She worked for UBS Wealth Management in Mexico City as an Investment Advisor providing financial solutions for High Net Worth Individuals. Before UBS, she worked for Deutsche Bank Asset and Wealth Management in New York where she held several positions as part of Key Client Partners - a team dedicated to providing institutional coverage to Latin-American Ultra High Net Worth Individuals and Family Offices. She worked on cross asset sales, private placement deals, financing, and alternative investments. She held previous positions at Merrill Lynch - Bank of America in the Alternative Investments Platform, covering third party Private Equity Firms and Hedge Funds. Maria holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and an MBA from IE (Instituto de Empresa) in Madrid.
Prior to Mountain Nazca, Pablo worked at HSBC where he assessed business and credit opportunities in the Latin American market. He rapidly transitioned from a graduate scheme role to a managerial position in the Global Banking team. He has over 4 years’ experience in the entrepreneurial and startup scene, where he was involved as Co-founder in the launching of Origen, the first Mexican organic food store, fostering sustainable development across all aspects of the supply chain. Pablo has an MS in Investment Management from Cass Business School, London and holds a Bachelors degree in International Business from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.
For 10 years Ivan worked as a software consultant for companies like Microsoft, Bimbo, Tenaris, SHCP, Grupo Palace, DineroMail (PayU) among others. After this he thought he was ready to change the world. And of course he was wrong. He spent the last 4 years learning about entrepreneurship, founded 1 company (RIP), worked for 2 startups (one of those RIP as well) and finally landing on Nazca to hit a homerun as the CTO. He loves to code and design software infrastructure, try new tech products, plays volleyball, travels and takes photos. Is a foodie and a dog lover.
Gerardo joined Mountain Nazca in 2015. Prior to joining the Team, Gerardo was a Financial Analyst in Geodis Supply Chain Optimisation on the Freight Billing Validation unit. Before graduating, Gerardo studied abroad for a semester to focus on corporate finance at the Harvard University Extension School. In 2015, Gerardo received a BA in Business Administration from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.
Gaspar joined Mountain Nazca in 2017 from IGNIA, a Venture Capital fund supporting high-growth businesses serving the emerging middle class in Mexico, where he evaluated and completed new investments in different sectors including fintech, e-commerce and SaaS. Prior to that, Gaspar worked at Linio, one of the largest e-commerce retailers in Latin America and a Rocket Internet venture, where he held investor relations and financial planning roles. Gaspar started his career at Lazard, first in Buenos Aires and then in Madrid, where he advised clients on major M&A and debt restructuring transactions across various sectors. Gaspar graduated from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid with a BA in Business Administration.
Daniela is a Finance Graduate from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. During her studies she did several interniships at diferent companies where she was involved in the analysis of the oil & gas industry. After graduating, Daniela joined Mountain Nazca as an Analyst. She holds an specialization degree in Financial Markets, Valuation and Analysis from the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles in Madrid.
Aleka is the internal council for Mountain Nazca. She graduated from law school at Universidad Ibero Americana, in Mexico City where she also minored in History of Philosophy. Aleka holds a diploma in English for law from the University of New South Wales, Sydney. She has prior experience working for Basham Ringe & Correa and SAI Abogados, S.C., Mexico´s top corporate law firms. She has also devoted part of her time working as a human rights lawyer.
More than 10 years in financial, services and comercial companies. He worked for Nafinsa SNC in the Department of Fidutiary Accountability contributing in the analysis and elaboration of financial statements under Mexican and International policies.
Oscar worked at the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) for 10 years, supervising different financial industries; first Loans and Savings Entities (e.g., Kubo Financiero), then Credit Report Agencies (e.g., Buro de Credito) and during his last year, Payment Network’s Participants (Fintech industry), more focused on Aggregators (e.g., PayPal) and Payment Brands (e.g., MasterCard). Oscar has a MA in Finance and Investment from London School of Business and Finance, London, and holds a Financial Risk Management Postgraduate’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Technological University of Mexico, in Mexico City.
Andrea is an intern at Mountain Nazca’s legal team. Prior to joining Mountain Nazca, she as an intern at a corporate law firm in Mexico City. Andrea is currently pursuing her law degree at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. She is a passionate learner, reads every book she can get her hands on and firmly believes in the power of positive change if we lead by example.
