Environmental Precautions > Nontarget Plants and Animals
To control mice, you place tamper resistant bait stations around the house where the family kitty can't get at the pesticide. Is the kitty fully protected from pesticide exposure?

That's Right!
The bait is securely placed, but the mice are not. Your kitty can still be poisoned if it eats mice that have been exposed to the bait. Dead rodents need to be disposed of as soon as possible to prevent this from happening.

"But my cat is Laaaaazzzzy! If it caught the mice I would not need bait."

Well, in that case your cat might be at less risk than other cats.
