Release 7.3.6
6/2/10
Key Bug Fixes
Various bug fixes are included in this release. The following is a list of key fixes by application area.
Please contact customer support for the status of any specific Astra Schedule case number.
Area: Approvals and Notifications
Double Book Permission: A user with permission to double book rooms and approve event requests is now warned if
the event they are approving will create a double booked room.
Area: Calendar
Calendar: Search text is now synchronized between the calendar page and calendar filter panel as well as retained
when changing views.
Double Book Permission: A user with permission to double book rooms is now prompted to confirm the double book
when booking over an event setup or teardown time.
Area: Event Request
Event Requests: The event meeting notes field was not intended to be used by requestors and was not properly saving
meeting notes entered during the request process. This field is suppressed in the event request form when the
meeting creation tool is provided to the requestor. Additionally, the event meeting notes are now properly saving
when used during normal event creation.
Area: Events
Event List Page: Edited the Event Scheduler filter option to use the owner ID instead of the createdby ID to
accommodate searching for events converted from previous versions.
Area: Manage Requests
Room/Resource Requests: The "More Info" option is now working when utilized from room and/or resource request
notifications.
Area: N/A
Calendars: Corrected a problem when switching between calendar views that was causing associated calendar filters
to disappear. Filters are now reloaded when switching calendars.
Area: Portal
Event Request: When filling out an event request as a guest, the guest is now returned to the portal upon completion.
Guest Portal: Provided a check when the portal is loaded to determine if the user is a guest, and if so eliminate the
login requirement.
Area: Reports
Reporting: Report "Sections by Selected Instructor for Selected Term" is now working correctly when run in MSSQL. An
instructor ID issue was resolved.
Area: Roles
Security: Updated security site map to suppress "Manage Requests" unless user belongs to an approver group.
Area: Sections
Announcements: Corrected a conflict checking issue that was preventing sections from being scheduled over
announcements created for the calendar. Announcements no longer prevent scheduling.
People Chooser: Corrected a Firefox‑specific issue that was preventing users from being able to select a person from a
drop‑down list due the type of list being used for displaying people.
Area: SIS/ATE
Section Interface: If a section meeting is deleted in the SIS, the corresponding Astra Schedule meeting INSTANCES
(dates) are now deleted as well, in addition to the meeting record.
PeopleSoft Interface: A change was made to the real time export to ensure that room changes continue to be
exported even when made in the same session. A problem was occurring that was causing exports to stop unless the
user logged out and back in to the application.
Known Limitations
Area: Calendar
Browser Support: The Calendar functions are not currently compatible with Safari. We are investigating options for
an update to the Calendar control that will support Safari in a coming release.
Area: Holidays and Announcements
Holiday Section Conflicts: Section meeting instances are cancelled and flagged as exceptions upon section creation.
However, at this time, holiday configuration actions that should impact existing section records will not perform this
work. Holidays that block section meetings must be created before sections are created.
Area: People
People records cannot currently be searched via email address. This is expected to be resolved in the 7.4.0 release.
Area: Report Subscriptions
Report Subscription: Reports to be included in a report subscription may not include sub‑reports in their design.
Area: Security
"Guest" user account must be mapped to the "guest" role.
Area: SIS/ATE
After importing events via the Excel import utility, customer data must be re‑exported to ObjAcct before users can
effectively access Events and Customer related functionality.
