4. What sorts of habits do you think would be useful if we are to learn effectively?
• Make a list in your group and then record these on the whiteboard.
• As individuals, look at this list and write down one which you think you are
already good at. Write down one that you need to develop further if you are to
learn effectively.
• What types of things could stop us from making wise decisions or using good
habits?
• Ask students to be attentive as they go through the Habits of Mind day in order to
see how many of the habits that the class discussed are mentioned.
5. If there is time, do some of the Mindtrap brainteasers. Give a prize to the group which
gets the most right or is the first to correctly complete the puzzles.
