3. In groups of 2 – 3, students are to create a tetrahedron. Establish the first vertex by
joining the ends of three satay sticks together by twisting a rubber band around the
sticks. Move onto the next vertex until the tetrahedron is complete.
4. In their groups students are to dismantle their tetrahedron and build a
dodecahedron. They can either start from scratch or adapt their tetrahedron by
adding sticks and rubber bands. Each vertex is comprised of four satay sticks joined
together. Move onto subsequent vertices until the octahedron is complete.
5. In their groups students are to dismantle their octahedron and build an
icosahedron. They can either start from scratch or adapt their octahedron by adding
sticks and rubber bands. Each vertex is comprised of five satay sticks joined
together. Move onto subsequent vertices until the icosahedron is complete.
